Description
It's Latin name, 'Hermodactylus tuberosis' (iridaceae) comes from the Greek 'Ermes' (Hermes) and dactylos (finger) recalls the snake wand that was the symbol of Hermes. Found in stoney places, damp olive groves, phrygana and fields of Greece.
